OnlyMums operates with two core beliefs that influence and guide us in all the work we do:

A committment to putting children first.  We are not a Rights based organisation, rather we work to support and encourage single parents (often in diffiuclt circumstances) to put the welfare of their children before everything else.

A belief that our organisations should constantly evolve in response to the changing nature of  today's family structures.

What we want to achieve in 2010 and 2011

• To continue to bring our websites (with on-going consultation) to the attention of as many single and seperating parents as possible.
• To continue to provide the highest quality signposting service to single and seperating parents.
• To continue to develop partnerships with other agencies and individuals who share our core beliefs.
• To constructively challenge government on future policy to ensure a fairer deal for lone parents and thier children.
• To continue to engage in the debate around current family law practice.

How?

• Develop regional signposting pages
• Engage in further constructive debates around families and children with other organisations working in a similar field
• Develop working relationships with Sure Start Children Centre's and Lone Parent Advisors (Job Centre Plus)
• Develop a more coherent and effective response to crisis calls. We will be working with Ugli Mediation to enhance our work in this area.
• Continue the development of our the Panel of Experts
